Testimonials

“I worked with Jason as his day-to-day supervisor when he joined our team as Communications Manager for the Coordination Center for the NIH funded Community Partnerships to Advance Science for Society (ComPASS) Program. Jason joined our team on the day that our funding and the ComPASS program writ large were terminated. Even given this devastating news, Jason remained positive and committed to make the most of his limited time here. In his month here, he was eager to contribute and quickly learned the scope of this very large and complex program so that he could support our close out process, extending his expertise whenever appropriate. He fit seamlessly into our close-knit team and quickly developed trusted working relationships with colleagues. Based on my brief experience working with him, I am confident that Jason's skills, expertise and approach to work would have significantly increased our ability to advance the work of the ComPASS program and amplify the important contributions of our partners to the broader field of public health. I hope to have the opportunity to work with him in the future.”

Kelly Traister, Project Director at Drexel University

“Jason worked for me back in his VCU undergrad days. Even then I knew that he had a special talent for marketing communications. He was an enthusiastic student marketing assistant with a professional attitude. So as he approached graduation, I urged him to apply for a graduate assistantship at Rowan University so he could earn his Masters' degree while continuing work in campus recreation, which he loved. Of course, he was accepted, and then pursued his graduate studies in the most challenging time for someone in that GA role - during the Covid pandemic. Jason persevered through his program, and returned to Richmond to take on his role at Greater Richmond Partnership. Once back in Richmond, Jason began serving in the community, joining the local AMA board, and working with me once again on the PRSA Richmond Chapter's DEI committee when I was chair in 2023. When I moved into a different board position, Jason moved joined the board as DEI Chair, sharing our organization's committment to diversity, equity and inclusion through our chapter's social media and editorial content. In 2024, Jason earned our chapter's Rising Star Award, a designation that truly speaks to who he is. I am proud to have been part of Jason's professional journey and proud to call him my friend.”

Connie Kottmann, Marketing Communications Manager at Virginia Commonwealth University

“I had the opportunity to work under Jason during my nine-month digital marketing internship at the Greater Richmond Partnership and I couldn't have asked for a better manager. From day one Jason created a welcoming environment where I felt empowered to contribute, ask questions and grow professionally. He brings a blend of creativity, strategy and attention to detail to every project he touches. Jason has an intuitive sense of how to make marketing not only effective and strategic, but meaningful. He has been an invaluable mentor to me during my time at GRP and beyond and his guidance gave me a clearer vision for my own path in marketing, as well as the confidence to pursue it! Anyone would be lucky to have Jason on their team. He's not only an incredibly talented marketer but also a generous and collaborative teammate.”
